Monday started my journey into designing knitted garments. It started with the desire to recreate a sweater my grandma Jennie knitted. I am working with a friend and experienced knitter/designer, Jan Hurwitz, to learn the process of creating something from scratch. We got started at Starbucks laying out the rough plan with swatches, measurements, and sketches.
Today is the beginning of the knitting. We found a similar pattern in a pattern book and today I got started on my swatch. So far it looks great!
